Meet the Director

 

Stacey founded The Performers Theatre Group with a vision to create a space where young artists are challenged to reach their full potential through meaningful, collaborative theater experiences. She brings a commitment to artistic rigor, youth development, and ensemble-driven work.

Stacey's multifaceted career includes critically acclaimed directorial work on Ragtime for Music Theater Works in 2021 and The Little Mermaid for the same theater. She is very proud of her Jeff Award-winning production of A Class Act for Porchlight Music Theatre. Her influence extends beyond theater to film, working on Ron Howard's The Dilemma and choreographing numerous national campaigns. 

Flaster’s credits include Ragtime for Big Noise Theatre (Broadway World Award, Best Director and Best Musical) and Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar for the same theater, Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wiz, Jesus Christ Superstar (Broadway World Award, Best Musical and Best Choreography), Footloose, Cats (Jeff Nomination, Best Choreography) and A Wonderful Life for Theatre at the Center; Joseph…Dreamcoat and Route 66 for Paramount Theatre; Married Alive for Metropolis Performing Arts Center; and Cabaret, Carousel and The Secret Garden for Light Opera Works. As choreographer: Joseph… Dreamcoat (Jeff Nomination, Best Choreography-Theatre at the Center), Miss Saigon and Something’s Afoot (Drury Lane Oakbrook), Willy Wonka (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre); You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Marriott Theatre); I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Noble Fool Theatricals); The Spitfire Grill and Smoke on the Mountain (Provision Theatre); Master Harold…and the Boys (Steppenwolf Theatre); and Madame X (Alley Cat Productions).

Stacey has directed 30 productions for The Performer’s School, and she has directed at many area high schools, most notably Mean Girls High School Edition for Glenbrook South.
